There are numerous benefits of a Chamber membership. Some benfits will be more important to you than others. Chamber membership conveys credibility and stability to your customers. Through our various events, you wll be provided with several networking and advertising opportunities, as well as representation and business education.
What does the Chamber of Commerce do?
The majority of Chamber work focuses on attracting visitors, businesses and sevices to the West Memphis area. We encourage them to patronize the businesses, products and services offered by our members. Additionally, it s our mission to providesupport for our members in any way that we can. We provide resources and customer services to our current members as well as host local events including: Gumbo Fest, Tailgate Competition, Business Expo, and several Christmas programs.
What are the most important benefits to business members?
Networking: The Chamber provides ample opportunities to network. Business After Hour, hosted the third Thursday of every month by a Chamber member, provides members the chance to speak face to face with other members and local professionals. Members can host a Business After Hours or Open House by calling the Chamber office.
Advertising/Marketing: One of our most important marketing events is our annual Business Expo. This Expo gives local businesses a chance to show their goods and services to the Mid-South, as well as gain a new customer base. Also, new business members receive a complimentary ribbon cutting ceremony thatis featured in the local newspaper and Chamber newsletter as well as on our Chamber website. We also host two annual cooking festivals, the annual Chamber Banquet, and several Christmas programs. Local businesses can take advantage of these advertising opportunities through membership, participation and/or sponsorship.
Information/ Referrals: The Chamber staff answers hundreds of requests for information every month. Relocation, new businesses and tourism information is provided by mail, fax or phone. Our referral program is our best feature to up and coming businesses. We refer local patrons, businesses and visitors to our members only! We also advertise new businesses in the area through local media and our community website.
Who runs the Chamber of Commerce?
The Chamber is presently operated by a paid staff of three employees who report directly to a volunteer Board of Directors. The Executive Director supervises day to day operations with membership and marketing departments. Board members set the policy for the Chamber of Commerce. They are ambassadors for the Chamber and our city. Thy volunteer their time aside from their regular jobs to promote
How can I get involved in my community?
The Chamber hosts several annual events, sponsors local non-profits organizations, and hold many business oriented programs. Ansyone can become a volunteer with the Chamber of Commerce! We have many team members through our Committees, Diplomats and Leadership programs. If you are interested in serving while networking in our community, please call the Chamber office.
How much is a Chamber membership?
Annual dues are paid on the anniversary date of your membership.
For-profit membership: $200
Non-profit membership: $150
Individual membership: $75
Associate membership: $50** non-voting member
